Alex Smith and his Kansas City Chiefs aren’t going away. With their dominating performance over the Oakland Raiders, beating them 56-31, the Chiefs are now in a tie for the AFC West with the Denver Broncos.
Smith and his Chiefs offense may have something in reserve. He showed yesterday, the Chiefs want the AFC West and they want it just as bad as the Broncos do. You can see now how big a win over Denver would have been for the Chiefs.
Tied with Denver at 11-3, the Chiefs may have been able to use a win in a tie breaker. Kansas City still has 2 games lefts but so does Denver. Smith and the Chiefs offense can’t slow down at this point in the season.
They are going to need wins over both the Colts and the Chargers to try to claim the top spot in the division. It isn’t going to be easy, the Chargers handed the Broncos a loss and the Colts need to win too.
Smith will need to stay as hot as he was in yesterday’s game. He threw for 287 yards and 5 touchdowns. These are Manning type numbers and it shows just how bad Smith wants to make it to the play-offs.
If he continues to play in this way, the Chiefs are going to be hard to stop. But they need to go ahead with caution, both teams they have left on their regular season schedule are capable of playing some great football.
