Fred Couples is going to play in the Masters this weekend. He is not only going to see Saturday play, he should be in the last group. Fred Couples is tied for the lead in the Masters, yes folks you read this right. The man who loves Augusta National Golf Club as much as any player who ever lived, is tied for the lead at the age of 53.
Couple played a heck of a second round today. With bad weather and all, Couples was still able to find the top of the leader board. Fred didn’t get off to the best start, he made bogey the first hoe and he still was able to hold on to the top spot, even with a double bogey on the par 4 7th hole.
Fred Couples would be the crowds favorite to win the 2013 Masters if he could hang on come Sunday afternoon and make his final move on the back nine with a chance to win. Couples is a former Masters champion, he won it in 1992. He only has one major championship win in a career, interrupted by back problems.
There is a special love affair between Couples and Augusta National golf course. He always finds a way to play well there. If Couples could hold on and get his second green jacket come Sunday he would be the oldest player to ever win not only the Masters, but any major golf tournament.
How nice would it be, to see Fred Couple to win the 2013 Masters? Tell us what you think. Leave your comments below….
