The San Fransisco 49ers ILB,  NaVorro Bowman hopes the Colts try to hand the ball off to Trent Richardson a lot in Sunday’s game. he thinks it will be easy to stop the newly acquired Colts running-back.

The 49ers defense doesn’t feel the least bit threatened by Richardson. They don’t think he is anything more than an average running back and if given the ball he will be easy to stop.

Bowman comes into to Sunday’s game ranked 3rd in the NFL with tackles and he thinks he will have a lot more if the Colts try to run Richardson during the game. Bowman thinks Andrew Luck will present the 49ers defense with new challenges in the game, but doesn’t think Richardson presents much if any challenge to stop.

The 49ers defense will be up to the task of stopping Richardson and if he carries the ball 20-30 times during the game, Bowman thinks it is an easy way for him to move up in tackles. The 49ers defense was a little embarrassed last week when they played the Seahawks and Bowman says they won’t be embarrassed this week.

He welcomes the change to face off against Richardson in Sundays game and he feels the Colts will be making a mistake if they plan to use Richardson much.

The 49ers defense also features Aldon Smith, who is ranked 5th in the NFL in sacks and he thinks the team can contain Andrew Luck and he doesn’t see Trent Richardson doing much to help the Colts in pass blocking either.
