John Daly, the 1991 PGA Champion is off to a good start at  the PGA from the Ocean Coarse at Kiawah Island South Carolina. Daly made the turn at 2 under par with birdies at number 3 and 7. When Daly came to the nearly 600 yard par five 11th he did what the old John Daly always did best, he hammer 2 humongous shots to find the putting surface in two and then Eagles the hole to pull within one stroke of the leader Rory McIlroy who was at -5. John Daly is playing some inspired golf today in search of the John Daly of old.

Just think how the golfing world would welcome John Daly as the 2012 PGA Champion. There is plenty of golf left to be played. You can’t win this on the first day, you sure can hlep to put your self into a prime position on the leader board though. So far that is exactly what John Daly has done… Lets hope he can hang on….
